1. Develop learning skills. Research has shown that regular attendance the Alliance meetings can help you develop invaluable cognitive abilities.
2. Get multicultural. Studying with Utah Alliance members throughout the State is key to understanding different cultures, and multiculturalism can enrich your personal and professional life in a globalized world.
3. Travel. Traveling to new locations in the State, and knowing Utah Alliance members makes it immensely easier to complete your work. Even if you're traveling to a neighboring community whose temperature varies by 20 degrees, Sometimes you have to travel to your neighboring community to appreciate your own.
4. Study abroad. Studying in other communities with Utah Alliance members will broaden your horizons and understanding of other cultures – to understand a culture you have to immerse yourself or visit them from time to time.
5. Go to grad school. Just because colleges are eliminating their language departments, it doesn't mean graduate schools are eliminating their language requirements. Many Master's and Ph.D. programs require applicants to have reading knowledge of languages other than English. Great way to increase your language skills by attending Utah Alliance meetings throughout the State.
6. Be more employable. Knowing all the State’s dialects can make you a useful resource for most businesses, and it helps on a resume and makes Utah Alliance members stand out in a crowd of job applicants.
7. Build job skills. In the global economy, speaking all of the Utah dialects won't just help you get the job - it can increase your performance by making it easier to communicate with Utah Alliance members and other professional contacts all over Utah.
8. Live abroad. Have you ever fantasized about living in another Utah community or having a truly intrastate career? Most of the rest of the world is multilingual; in Utah you can become multilingual. Living the global Utah lifestyle will likely require you to speak many Utah dialects other than English, the Alliance will help you understand and develop that talent.
9. Improve your English. Studying all the Utah dialects can actually make you a better speaker of your native Utah dialect, just another side benefit of being an Alliance member that can help you become more familiar with the parts of Utah speech and the building blocks of your own grammar.
10. Enrich yourself. Travel, Education, Language Study and Networking are some of the rich experiences that the Utah Alliance can facilitate. The greatest experience will be in, developing Statewide friendships and learning a whole new way to express yourself.
